Falling off the Consistency Wagon
So...it happened | Read Time: 2 Mins
Hey, friend!
I know…I know. Today is not Sunday, so why are you hearing from me? Well, it finally happened. My first consistency slip-up. I was supposed to send out a newsletter on Sunday, and I missed it.
Now, usually, I would beat myself up about this and twist myself in knots with guilt. Tobi, how can you expect to grow this newsletter if you can’t even stick to writing it just twice a month?
This time, I decided to try something new…give myself grace.
Instead of beating myself up about missing my schedule, I allowed myself to recognize that it had been a very busy week for me and I just did not have the bandwidth to write a newsletter. I then made note of what changes I would make to prevent this from happening again in the future. For example, making sure I start a draft of the newsletter before launch day.
I also did not allow the fact that I missed sending out a newsletter on Sunday stop me from sending one at all. If you promised yourself to go to the gym on Mondays and you miss a Monday, don’t tell yourself you’ll wait till the following week. Go on Tuesday, or Wednesday, or whenever. Consistency is about doing something in the same way over time. It’s not about doing it on a particular day over time.
So, I am writing to you now from baggage claim in London’s Heathrow airport. I just arrived for a family friend’s wedding and have some time to kill, so I decided to get right to it and get this newsletter out no matter what day of the week it is.
Have you fallen off the consistency wagon recently? How did you handle it? Email me back and let me know!
Talk to you soon! (I promise)

Loved this podcast interview with Bridgerton actress Charithra Chandran.
As a Kombucha girlie, I’ve been interested in trying new drinks for gut health and just started getting into prebiotic sodas. Have you tried any?
I haven’t been in London in 5 years! I’m vlogging my trip so be sure to subscribe to me on YouTube :)
